ARBY'S KIDS ADVENTURE MEAL TAKES ON NEW THEME; MORE NUTRITIOUS MENU OPTIONS BEGINNING JULY 1

 MIAMI, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Yogi Bear can stop rummaging in tourist's picnic baskets now that he has signed on as the pitchman for Arby's Kids Adventure Meal.
 "Yogi and Friends," the cast from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series set to premier in national syndication this fall, will also star in Arby's new Adventure Meal premium program beginning this July. The national roll-out in Arby's restaurants will include an environmental/education slant and a cross-promotion with Mattel Toys.
 Better still, Arby's restaurateurs expect parents across the country to applaud the Yogi and Friends Adventure Meal, not only because Yogi harkens back to their childhoods, but also because he belongs to a truly delicious "healthy kids meal" option in fast-food.
 The new menu option substitutes Mott's Applesauce and lowfat milk for fries and a soft drink, giving it 200 fewer calories and 10 less grams of fat than the regular Arby's Adventure Meal. During test marketing in Minneapolis, sales of the Mott's menu option accounted for almost 38 percent of all Adventure Meal sales.
 The regular Adventure Meal includes a Jr.-sized Arby's Roast Beef sandwich, a small fry, and a soft drink. Both options include a toy prize featuring one of several Hanna-Barbera characters.
 "The Mott's option now gives parents an even greater choice in selecting tasty, nutritious meals for their children," said Mark Stine, vice president of communications for Arby's, Inc.
 Arby's new Adventure Meal not only recognizes the trend toward healthier eating, but also the growing consumer interest in protecting the environment. Yogi and Friends will help teach kids simple tips for saving the earth with short messages printed on Adventure Meal Bags. These will range from "Remember to turn off the water when you brush your teeth" to "Save energy. Turn off the lights when you leave your room."
 This fall, Arby's will cross-promote its Adventure Meal with Mattel, which will introduce a line of plush toys featuring Yogi, Scooby Doo, Huckleberry Hound and Magilla Gorilla, in toy stores around the country. Arby's will provide customers with a $1.00-off coupon for Mattel's plush toys and the Mattel toy packages will feature a 50 cent coupon for Arby's Adventure Meal.
 Arby's Hanna-Barbera licensing agreement marks the fourth incarnation of the Adventure Meal, using popular characters ranging from Looney Toons to Babar the Elephant.
