ARAB NETWORK OF AMERICA TO USE SATCOM 2R FOR NEWS AND EVENTS
PRINCETON, N.J., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 4, the Arab Network of America, Inc. (ANA) began daily transmission of ANA TV on Satcom 2R -- a GE American Communications, Inc. (GE Americom) satellite.
This service features seven hours of Arabic language programming each day, thus delivering a variety of entertainment programs from across the Arab world to U.S. cable systems, wireless cable systems and individual dish owners.
In August, ANA will utilize a full transponder 24 hours a day to broadcast its highly successful radio programming, ANA Radio, alternately with ANA TV. ANA Radio features BBC Arabic Service News, music and other radio programming. The service also features ANA- produced programs such as "Insights," which carried the first report of Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.
ANA joins Primetime 24, Home Shopping Network, Viacom/CONUS and a wide range of occasional and government services in GE Americom's Satcom 2R neighborhood.
GE Americom, located in Princeton, uses the Satcom fleet -- five C-band and two Ku-band satellites -- to service cable television, broadcast radio and television as well as business information and government markets. GE Americom is a subsidiary of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE).
