ARA SERVICES PREPARES LUNCH FOR 5,000 INAUGURAL PARADE MARCHERS

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- What does an inauguration day "power" lunch include?
Well, according to ARA Services, if you're one of the thousands of people marching in the parade that will welcome President Bill Clinton to Washington, it's a noontime meal including a ham or turkey sandwich, an apple, orange drink and one of ARA's own Gretel's cookies.
As the food service manager of the Pentagon, the Department of Commerce, the Library of Congress, and many other Washington governmental agencies, business and healthcare facilities, ARA is well known in the nation's capital. As a result, ARA was called on to prepare 5,000 lunches for marchers taking part in the inaugural parade. The lunches will be prepared at the Pentagon by a team of 25 ARA employees.
"ARA is proud to support this event which typifies the very essence of our nation's enduring commitment to democracy and the free enterprise system," said Joseph Neubauer, chairman and chief executive officer of ARA.
ARA has a reputation for serving other big events such as the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, where the company served as the official food service manager. During the games, ARA coordinated the preparation and service of more than 1.5 million meals for the athletes, officials and volunteers.
ARA Services is a privately held, international, diversified service management company with nearly $5 billion in annual revenues. The company's 120,000 employees provide such services as food and leisure, health and childcare, uniform services and periodical distribution.
