 KETCHUM, Idaho, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Aqua Vie Beverage Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: 3AVBC) today announced that sales are climbing in target markets. With chain stores beginning to place "rush" re-orders for Aqua Vie's non-carbonated, lightly-flavored spring water beverages, in the highly competitive Southern California market, Aqua Vie continues to demonstrate strong consumer acceptance at retail. Seven major chains, representing over 80 percent ACV (all commodity volume) of the market, have aggressively re-ordered to support consumer demand.
 Aqua Vie has further expanded its distribution effort by targeting the "on-premise" business, including restaurants, hotels, commissaries and schools. This new effort in the Southern California region is a result of the consummation of an agreement between Aqua Vie Beverage Corp. and Atlas-Horn, a major food service broker.
 In Texas, distribution of Aqua Vie's new product line is expected to reach 70 percent ACV in less than 30 days, triggering a similar TV, radio and outdoor campaign in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
 The announced introduction of Aqua Vie's 38-ounce bottle in August resulted in an immediate acceptance of the entire Aqua Vie product line by Jewel Food Stores, a dominant grocery chain representing over 31 percent ACV in the greater Chicago area.
 Aqua Vie also announced that they had reached an agreement to sponsor "The Celebration of Women in Sports," a mini-Olympic-style event scheduled for Sept. 9-12 in Newport Beach and Irvine, Calif. Over $100,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to a select few of the 15,000 participants. Aqua Vie products and logo will be prominently displayed throughout the entire event. Media coverage includes an ESPN 60-minute special, NBC Sports is scheduled to air a 30-minute program and extensive local radio coverage and print advertisements in key publications. In addition, Aqua Vie has finalized an agreement that allows for Aqua Vie product placements on "The Murphy Brown Show," starting this fall. Further, Aqua Vie's first contest, "The Thirst for Adventure," a highly competitive roller blade promotion is scheduled to begin on college campuses at the start of the fall semester.
 Aqua Vie Beverage Corp. is the producer and marketer of a line of seven lightly flavored, non-carbonated spring water beverages, including new Sun Tea and soon-to-be-released McIntosh apple. Aqua Vie i currently available in major supermarket chains in Southern California and Texas, and has contracts for distribution in 32 other states. By the end of 1993 the company anticipates a national retail presence and expansion into Europe.
