APV's modular vertical laminator.

APV's Modular Vertical Laminator

APV Baker have developed a modular vertical laminator, known as the 81 BA Modular. The actual modules comprise a three roll sheeter, horizontal gauge roll and a layering section.

There is a choice of layering mechanism, either a continuous layering module or a cut sheet layering one, depending on needs. Both systems incorporate the facility for putting a fat/flour mix between layers. The laminator receives the dough from the mixer directly into the sheeter which begins to gauge the dough. This thick sheet is then transferred to the gauge roll section where it is compressed to the appropriate thickness for laminating, although before laminating the dough sheet is allowed to rest so as to reduce the stress applied during gauging.

The manufacturers of this unit, APV Baker Ltd, Baked Products Division of Westfield Road, Peterborough, tel: 0733 262000 tell us the new unit will feed cutting machines up to 1.5m wide and ovens in excess of 100m long.
