 APRIL 3 MARKS END OF SEASONAL ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS;

FAMILIES IN NEED OF HELP WITH FUEL AND UTILITY BILLS URGED TO ACT NOW
 PHILADELPHIA, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania's HEAT HELP grant program, LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), will cease taking applications on April 3, 1992.
 LIHEAP helps families pay their electric, gas, oil, propane or water bills. The household does not have to have an overdue bill in order to receive assistance nor is a lien placed on the property.
 LIHEAP grants average about $200 and vary according to family income and number of dependents. Proof of income for all household members is required as well as social security numbers and a current utility or fuel bill. Applications are available at all gas and electric company district offices. More information and directions to neighborhood locations for help in filling out applications may be obtained by calling 215-560-2970, or 1-800-242-0643.
 Customers in a heating emergency or who have a payment agreement with their utility company may determine if they are eligible for a CRISIS grant, in addition to LIHEAP, by calling 215-686-2590. The CRISIS program also closes on April 3.
