APPOINT TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES JURASSIC MOUSE

PLEASANTON, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Appoint Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: APNT) announced today the introduction of a new input device for desktop computers. For computer users whose imaginations are captivated by prehistoric creatures (or anyone grown weary of their conventional input device), Appoint's new Jurassic Mouse is just the thing. The Jurassic Mouse combines advanced technology, ergonomics and some prehistoric fun in a pen-shaped input device ready to do battle with the software versions of Tyrannosaurus Rex that roam the dark jungles and misted valleys of the computer screen.
Covered with a unique green-textured "dinosaur skin," the Jurassic Mouse is designed for fun. Appealing to lovers of prehistoric creatures, regardless of their age, the Jurassic Mouse is more than just a novelty. With the latest improvements in Appoint's advanced technology, the Jurassic Mouse is a serious input device that performs well on any surface. According to Michelle Zumwalt, Appoint's manager of corporate communications, "The unique ergonomics of the pen-shaped design provide higher dexterity and better control than a conventional mouse, working well with virtually all software applications."
Like all Appoint products, the Jurassic Mouse relies on friction control rather than gravity, permitting the use of the device on any surface and at almost any angle. No mouse pad is required -- just the thing for all-terrain use on the dashboard of the four-wheel drive while leading the expedition into the murky swamps of the software jungle.
"With dinosaurs appearing in a wide variety of software products, we felt that an entertaining and useful dinosaur theme hardware product would appeal both to retailers and to the consumers of all ages," said Cynthia Colmenares, vice president of sales at Appoint. "The Jurassic Mouse, like our Computer Crayon product, is displayed in bright, colorful packaging designed to jump off the retailer's shelves." The Jurassic Mouse has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49.00.
Appoint designs, manufactures and markets advanced technology input devices for IBM compatible, portable and Apple Macintosh computers. Appoint's products are distributed through Ingram Micro, Merisel and Baker & Taylor. For information about the Jurassic Mouse, contact Appoint, 510-463-3003, or fax correspondence to: 510-463-3204.
