 APPLIED RESEARCH SIGNS LONG-TERM AGREEMENT
 WITH EPOCH FINANCIAL MARKETING CONSULTANTS
LANDOVER, Md., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Research Corporation (PHLX: ARL.X) announced today that it has signed a long- term agreement with Epoch Financial Marketing Consultants, a Denver public relations and financial marketing consulting firm.
"Our goal is to develop and expand market awareness within the financial community and to better serve Applied Research's shareholders," said James H. Blackman, Epoch's president. "Exposing Applied Research to the financial community is long overdue for the 13-year-old company," he continued.
Applied Research Corporation has recently been involved in two major developments. In the first development, Applied Research will participate in a $685 million NASA contract with Hughes Information Technology Company to develop and field the Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS).
The second major development for the company is the creation of ARSoftware Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Applied Research Corporation. This subsidiary has been created to diversify the company's business base by developing niche markets in the computer software industry. ARSoftware will utilize the company's existing technological expertise in software development to license and distribute state-of-the-art proprietary software products. ARSoftware should significantly increase sales and profitability for Applied Research Corporation in the future.
Formed in 1979, Applied Research Corporation is a high technology company specializing in research and development, technical support services and software development. The company's strengths are in the atmospheric sciences, space sciences, geophysics, and computer related services. The company's clients include NASA Goddard Space Center, NASA Johnson Space Center, Hughes Aircraft, Department of Energy, Ford Aerospace, National Institutes of Health, GE Astro Space Division, Naval Research Laboratory, Advanced Computer Concepts, Martin Marietta, Lockheed, the University of Colorado, the University of California at San Diego, the University of Delaware and the University of Maryland.
