APPLIED POWER NAMES ORLIN YENERICH EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
MILWAUKEE, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Orlin P. Yenerich, 59, has been named to the newly created post of executive vice president of Applied Power Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: APWRA), as part of a general corporate reorganization and restructuring which Richard G. Sim, president and chief executive officer, said would "support the company's growth and strategic initiatives."
As executive vice president, Yenerich will assume responsibility for four of Applied Power's business operations: GB Electrical, Barry Controls, Power-Packer/APITECH, and Wright Line.
Applied Power's Enerpac business, its Asian operations and its corporate executive staff will continue to report directly to Sim, "who will now be able to provide additional dedicated attention to strategic matters, important external relations and other key issues critical to the company's longer term growth," a company announcement said.
Sim said that the executive vice president position was created to provide increased senior management support for the day-to-day business operations of the company.
Sim noted that Yenerich "brings over 15 years of demonstrated general management operating skills and experience to his new post. We are confident that the addition of Orlin Yenerich to the corporate executive management organization will strengthen our overall capabilities," Sim said.
Yenerich has been with Applied Power since 1989 as president of its Wright Line business, located in Worcester, Mass. Prior to joining Applied Power, he was with the General Electric Company for some 33 years.
He joined General Electric in 1956 and worked in several divisions including Hotpoint in Chicago, Major Appliances in Louisville, and Medical Systems in Milwaukee. He began his General Electric career in general accounting and was later involved in information systems and product service activities. He was general manager of GE's Medical Systems Dental X-ray business and subsequent to tat was general manager of its Nuclear Diagnostic Imaging business.
Prior to joining General Electric, he spent two years with E. Van Der Laan, a public accounting firm in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Indiana in 1954 with a BS degree in finance and economics.
Applied Power is a world leader in industrial motion and position control applications and a pioneer in the marriage of hydraulic and vibration technologies with electronics.
The company is comprised of two business groups.
