APPLE USA NAMES MARYANN KARINCH PR MANAGER, FEDERAL SYSTEMS GROUP

 RESTON, Va., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AAPL), today announced the selection of Maryann Karinch for public relations manager of Apple USA's Federal Systems Group. The Reston-based operation handles sales and support of Apple products to the U.S. government worldwide.
 For 16 years, Karinch has designed and managed communications and public relations programs for companies in the Washington area. As public relations manager for Apple's Federal Systems Group, Karinch focuses on the information needs of media reaching the federal marketplace. She serves as a spokesperson for Apple on the products and issues of concern to information resource managers and other users and buyers of computer technology in the federal government.
 Before joining Apple, Karinch was director of communications for the Computer and Business Equipment Manufacturers Association (CBEMA). Prior to that, she was an independent public relations consultant and writer. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees from The Catholic University of America in Washington.
