APPLE COMPUTER APPOINTS GEORGE EVERHART VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF BUSINESS MARKET DIVISION FOR APPLE USA

 CAMPBELL, Calif., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AAPL) today announced that George Everhart has been appointed the new vice president and general manager of the business markets division for Apple USA. This division is responsible for marketing all Apple products into small and mid-sized businesses throughout the United States. Everhart will report to Robert L. Puette, president of Apple USA.
 In his new role, Everhart will manage the planning, marketing, field sales and support organizations. He will work closely with the dealer and VAR channel on sales opportunities, as well as oversee the development of sales and marketing programs targeted at specific customer segments.
 Everhart, 46, has been senior director of Apple USA's reseller sales, where he managed reseller and sales efforts nationwide. He has been with Apple since 1987 and has held a number of senior sales and marketing positions. Prior positions include director of national accounts, senior director of corporate accounts, national manager of corporate accounts and director of business marketing.
