APLA FASHION GALA TO HONOR CALVIN KLEIN; EVENT MOVES TO HOLLYWOOD BOWL IN SEVENTH YEAR; INCLUDES RARE PERFORMANCE BY LEGEND TINA TURNER

 LOS ANGELES, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Internationally known American fashion designer Calvin Klein will be honored at the Seventh Annual California Fashion Industry Friends of AIDS Project Los Angeles Gala from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, at the Hollywood Bowl.
 The evening will feature a fashion show presentation by Klein using between 300 and 400 male and female models. "The World of Calvin Klein" will include designs from Klein's Collection, CK line, denim, swimwear and underwear. Also included in the evening will be a cocktail reception, an alfresco supper, silent auction of framed sketches by international fashion designers and a rare performance by rock legend Tina Turner.
 The event is co-chaired by Barry Diller, Sandy Gallin, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steve Tisch. Industry chairs include Carolyn Mahboubi and Dorothy Schoelen. Honorary co-chairs are Elizabeth Tilberis, editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar and Veronica Hearst.
 Tickets selling for $350 and $300 include individual box seating, pre-show reception, gourmet supper, concert and show and on-site parking. For information on these tickets, as well as special benefit packages ranging from $2,400 to $50,000, call Michael Anketell at 310-392-9894.

 AIDS Project Los Angeles, California's largest AIDS service organization, provides services to more than 3,600 people living with AIDS in Los Angeles County. Services, including legal counseling, dental care, food, insurance counseling and mental health counseling, are all provided free of charge to clients. The Public Policy Department advocates for people with HIV and their loved ones on local, state and federal levels. APLA's Education Department conducts educational outreach in Spanish and English through various programs including AIDS in the Workplace and Saber es Poder (Knowledge equals Power).
