APFS Announces its Association with FP Transitions for Comprehensive Succession Planning Services.

HOLBROOK, N.Y. -- American Portfolios Financial Services (APFS), one of the nation's leading independent broker-dealers with more than 500 registered representatives is pleased to announce its association with FP Transitions to provide a broad-based array of succession planning services to its advisors.

APFS has contracted with FP Transitions to provide practice valuations, internal succession planning guidance, disaster planning solutions, partnership and group practice support, and sales and acquisition tools, including a private labeled transition portal. "Our commitment to our advisors requires that we provide them the tools and support in this area to continue to be leaders in this industry. FP Transitions' program provides a turn-key solution to the problem and an affordable choice of services," said Melissa Grappone, Director of Corporate Communications at APFS.

This industry-leading succession planning initiative includes annual goals for both companies to implement written, short-term continuity plans and long-term succession plans, in addition to providing a minimum number of practice valuations and succession planning workshops. The private labeled transition portal will provide APFS advisors with information and a listing platform through which they can obtain information on a confidential basis and buy or sell entire or partial practices within the APFS network.

The program will provide a unique package of services, most using a fixed, flat-fee approach for the engaging business owner, and a non-advocacy delivery method that acknowledges a team approach to succession planning between owner and eventual successor. The APFS program also includes:

* Instant e-mail notifications of new practices for sale

* Exclusive "members only" conference calls for APFS advisors on succession planning issues

Aside from giving everyone complimentary access to the FP transitions website, for all registered representatives and financial advisors whose gross commissions and advisory fees exceed $225,000 for the trailing twelve months, APFS will pay an additional 50% of all fees for valuation, purchase and sale of a practice provided that the practice comes to or remains at APFS.
