FR Countermeasures Inc. (FRC), part of the Cohbam plc, was established in Milan, TN to manufacture conventional (MTV) Flares, and a new, advanced infra-red airborne countermeasure which features multi-spectral capability.
The IR countermeasures suit a wide variety of applications for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force Marines, and Allied governments, including high-speed jet aircraft transports and helicopters. The new advanced IR airborne countermeasures with multi-spectral capability provide U.S. and Allied forces with the means to recapture the low altitude battle space previously denied them due to surface threats.
Incorporated in December 2000, FRC occupies space within the U.S. Army Ammunition Plant at Milan through a lease agreement with the United Stated Government under the auspices of the ARMS program. The lease agreement was signed in July 2002 and, in late 2003, the plant began manufacturing operations.
FRC introduces world-class safety, quality, and technology into the competitive industry to become the world leader in flare design and manufacturing. The AN/ALQ-214 is an onboard system comprised of a technique generator and high power transmitters developed by ITT. It is integrated with a towed decoy to provide enhanced protection against specific class threats.

The objective is to provide analytic means--the concepts and computational procedures--to assess more realistically the effectiveness of weapons, sensors, networks, platforms, and the systems they constitute as well as the associated tactics, techniques, and procedures that govern their deployment and use in the multiple-target, multiple-weapon engagements that typify combat. Improved, operational-specific analytical concepts, the mathematical relationships among the corresponding variables, and the associated computational modules are the most important supporting products. Such analyses accommodate the interacting configurations of attackers and defenders. Consequently, they embody important functional and probabilistic dependencies that determine which attackers encounter which defenders with what probabilities, and the ranges, velocities, and aspect angles of the encounters, their order of occurrence, and the probability distributions of their outcomes.
Those (configural) relationships are typically excluded from customary analyses even though they characterize the interacting configurations and are inherent in combat. Because configural analysis accommodates them and the constraints they impose on target-weapon interactions (often implicitly), the resulting assessments of the relative effectiveness of candidate design alternatives and subsystem trade-offs better approximate their potential combat effectiveness.

TESS simulations produce engagement outcomes as measured by such metrics as weapon miss distance and platform probability of survival. Additional measures of performance such as range. Doppler and angle track error and jamming to signal ratio for each instant of an engagement are also displayed graphically for the user as the engagement unfolds.
TTI offers its engagement simulation products in three formats, open source code, semi-compiled code and fully compiled code. The simulations are high-fidelity physics-based simulations developed in the modular and hierarchical Simulink language. To meet special classified or proprietary model requirements, the user, at any level in the hierarchical architecture, may modify the open-source version. TTI can also provide various optional features such as three dimensional virtual reality graphics and graphical user interfaces that include database management and batch runner capabilities. TTI offers training related to countermeasure effectiveness evaluation and TESS product use. Terma A/S was founded in 1949, and has since developed into a high-tech company that develops, produces, and markets a wide range of radars, C31, and electronic warfare (EW) systems. In the EW field, Terma specializes in these areas: control and integration of EW self-protection systems on fighters, transport aircraft and helicopters; chaff and flare dispensing systems; and pods, pylons, and other externally mounted structures for installation of various types of EW systems. The Terma Corporation has four sites in Denmark and a total workforce of approximately 1,000 employees.
The Terma EW Management System (EWMS), the AN/ALQ-213 (V), was developed in close cooperation with the Royal Danish Air Force for the F-16. The system was subsequently made compatible with a wide range of EW subsystems and adapted for use in other aircraft. It is now a generic system that is able to control any combination of EW subsystems on multiple types of tactical aircraft. The system also provides control for other than EW subsystems. In the Belgian, US, and Danish fleets of F-16s, the EWMS has been selected to control the aircraft's onboard reconnaissance system. The AN/ALQ-213 (V) is in operational use in 12 different types of fighters, transport aircraft and helicopters in eight countries, including the US, Australia, and several European countries. Based on incoming threat signals, the EWMS automated threat response capability ensures that the optimum combination of countermeasures is initiated without action from the pilot. The system also features a semiautomatic and manual mode of operation.
New products include a Tactical Threat Display (TTD), introduced to accommodate information from missile warning systems and to replace older type CRT radar warning displays, and a three-dimensional audio warning system that will immediately alert the pilot to the direction of the threat. The 3-D Audio Warning System is considered a strong candidate for the Joint Strike Fighter Program. Terma has also developed the Advanced Countermeasures Dispensing System (ACMDS), which has been adapted to various types of aircraft. The Pylon Integrated Dispensing System (PIDS) is used by several F-16 countries, including the US. The PIDS has been further modified to accommodate missile warning sensors. The Modular Countermeasures Pod (MCP) is used on transport air-craft, and special scab-on mountings are in use on transport aircraft and helicopters.
In November 2003, Terma and Warner Robins Air Logistics Center of USAF signed a long term partnering agreement that includes maintenance, hardware and software support of Terma EW Systems. The agreement also includes provisions for supply of Terma EW systems to other DOD users and the supply of such systems to other countries.
In May 2004 Terma established a subsidiary company in the US: Terma North America, Inc., located at 151 Osigian Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA 31088. The chairman of the board is Bob Louthan and the site manager is Frank Solhoj.
