ANY DAY NOW 15.

Alan Cumming delivers his best screen performance yet in this gripping and moving child-custody drama.

He's a drag queen who mouth syncs at a gay bar in 1979 Los Angeles. Next door in a cruddy apartment block, lives a junkie single mother who neglects her teenage Down's syndrome son.

Cumming cares for the kid and when he and lawyer Garret Dillahunt - who hasn't come out of the closet - fall in love, they decide to adopt the youngster.

Naturally, they encounter obstacles.

The drama never resorts to cliches but will undoubtedly have you reaching for a hanky. Cumming is absolutely terrific.
