ANTHONY CASSARA NAMED PRESIDENT OF PARAMOUNT STATIONS GROUP

 HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthony Cassara has been named president of the Paramount Stations Group, it was announced today by Steve Goldman, president of the Domestic Television Division of Paramount Pictures. Cassara will manage all aspects of Paramount's six television stations. He succeeds James Boaz, who retired last fall.
 Cassara has extensive experience in broadcast management, having served as chairman and chief executive officer of Wometco Broadcasting Co., where he managed ABC and CBS affiliates as well as independent stations. In the early 80s, he served as president and was later promoted to chairman and chief executive officer of Golden West Television, a position he held concurrent with responsibilities with Wometco.
 Prior to that, he enjoyed a long career with KTLA-TV/Los Angeles, which culminated in his position as general manager. Cassara led the station to rank as the No. 1 independent in Los Angeles and the most profitable in the nation.
 Cassara most recently operated Coral Communications, a Honolulu- based company he founded which owns Hawaii's top-ranked radio station, KHNR. Previously, Cassara served as founder an managing general partner of Cassara & Co., a partnership formed to seek investment opportunities in television.
 In making the announcement, Goldman stated, "I have known Tony for over 20 years. Paramount is very fortunate to have him join our station group, which has contributed significantly to our division's overall success. His tremendous background in broadcasting perfectly positions him and the stations for a future of productivity and expansion."
 The Paramount Stations Group reaches nearly 10 percent of all television households; four of the six stations are the top 10 broadcast markets. The stations are WTXF-TV, Philadelphia; WDCA-TV, Washington; WLFL-TV, Raleigh, N.C.; KTXA-TV, Dallas; KTXH-TV, Houston; KRRT-TV, San Antonio.
 A graduate of New York University's School of Business, Cassara served as an intelligence officer for the United States Navy.
