ANT & DEC & CHAS; EXCLUSIVE: Prince snubs heavyweights to give interview to stars of children's TV.

MOVE over David Frost, Prince Charles has chosen to give his latest TV interview to children's favourites Ant and Dec.

The prince invited the pair to Highgrove to chat about his tastes in music and his Prince's Trust charity, which helps disadvantaged youngsters.

Ant and Dec were told they could ask Charles about anything - except the delicate subject of marriage and Camilla Parker Bowles .

Tom Shebbeare, chief executive of the trust, said: "I suppose Ant and Dec are rather a surprising choice, but it came from a desire to reach those people who might not watch David Frost. They got on like a house on fire.

"It was great to see how the prince can identify with people of that age group and get on very well with them.

"Our target group might never have heard about the Prince's Trust but they might listen to Ant and Dec and realise then what the trust could do for them."

Part of the interview will be screened tomorrow on SM-TV and it will go out in full on Sunday as ITV presents a three-hour special on the Party In The Park in London.

The concert is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for the Prince's Trust, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Mr Shebbeare said the interview brought out the fun-loving side in the 52-year-old prince.

It is believed sons William and Harry were enthusiastic about the chat.

The prince will be seen talking to Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 25, in the gardens of his Gloucestershire home.

It is his first in-depth interview since the controversial documentary in which he confirmed his relationship with Mrs Parker Bowles.
