The annual state observance of the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin

Luther King Jr. will be held at noon tomorrow, Jan. 14, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Sixth and Forster streets, Harrisburg, Pa.
U.S. Sen. Harris L. Wofford, a friend and colleague of the late civil rights leader, will be the featured speaker. The event will be hosted by state Rep. Vincent Hughes, chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus, and Gov. Robert P. Casey, who will give brief remarks.
The theme of this year's observance is "A Celebration of Diversity."
Monday, Jan. 20, is the official state holiday in honor of King. All state government offices will be closed on that day.
King was born in Atlanta on Jan. 15, 1929. He was the leader of the U.S. civil rights movement from the mid 1950s until his death from an assassin's bullet in Memphis, Tenn., on April 4, 1968.
