Hays

David and Barbara Hays of Springfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Caribbean cruise given to them by their children and their spouses.

The couple were married May 8, 1959, in Everett, Wash.

Their children and their spouses are Harland Hays of Hawaii; Larry and Betsy Hays and David Hays of Douglas, Alaska; Vicki and Randy Goetz of Snohomish, Wash.; Susan and Dennis Barci of Stanwood, Wash.; and Guy and Julie Hays of Auk Bay, Alaska. Two sons, Jimmy Petersen and Bruce Hays, are deceased.

The couple have 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

David Hays served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked in the lumber industry, and is retired.

Barbara Hays worked in a paper mill in Lowell, Wash. She worked for Safeway for 18 years, and is retired.

Both are members of the St. Alice Catholic Church.
