ANM plans to close Sheffield Meat Plant.

Scottish meat processor ANM Group is planning to close its Yorkshire Premier Meat plant in Sheffield because of difficult trading conditions.

The company has launched a consultation with the 59 staff at the site, which supplies prepared meat for ready meals. If the closure goes ahead, existing business from Sheffield would be transferred to ANM's Yorkshire Premier plant in South Kirby.

In a statement, AN M said difficult trading conditions had made the site unviable. "The level of losses being experienced at Sheffield are considered unsustainable in the current economic climate with no indication of trading patterns improving in the near future," it said.
