 ANHEUSER-BUSCH FILES $735 MILLION SHELF REGISTRATION
 ST. LOUIS, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. (NYSE: BUD) announced today that it has filed a shelf registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission for $735 million of debt securities. When combined with the $15 million still available from a previously filed registration statement, this will bring the company's total outstanding shelf registrations to $750 million. These securities would be issued over time in one or more series on terms to be determined at the time of sale.
 The company indicated that the proceeds would be used in support of capital expenditure requirements, possible acquisitions, share repurchases, and for other general corporate purposes.
 Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. is a diversified corporation whose subsidiaries include the world's largest brewing organization, the country's second largest producer of fresh baked goods, and the country's second largest theme park operator. The company also has interests in container manufacturing and recycling, malt and rice production, international brewing and beer marketing, snack foods, international baking, refrigerated and frozen foods, real estate development, major league baseball, stadium ownership, creative services, rail car repair and transportation services and metalized label printing.
