SHAMED TV host Angus Deayton is to star in his first serious drama TV role.

Viewers will see him play a ruthless Scots-based lawyer whose personality is transformed after he has a heart transplant.

The two-hour drama, titled Heartless, will be shown on ITV1 next year.

Deayton joked: 'The script's great, the director's excellent and the locations stunning. The casting's the only bit I'm not sure about.'

He has appeared in a number of projects since losing his job hosting Have I Got News For You over sex and drug revelations.
