ANGELINE C. STRAKA ELECTED A WESTINGHOUSE VICE PRESIDENT

 PITTSBURGH, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Westinghouse Electric Corporation (NYSE: WX) has elected Angeline C. Straka a vice president of the corporation, Chairman Michael H. Jordan announced today.
 As vice president and secretary, Ms. Straka has responsibility for interfacing with the New York Stock Exchange and the Securities Exchange Commission. In addition, Ms. Straka performs the duties of the board secretary.
 Ms. Straka joined Westinghouse in 1983 as an attorney for the then control equipment business. After numerous legal assignments, in 1988 she was named senior counsel in the mergers and acquisitions group within the law department, after which she spent a year handling legal matters for the H. J. Heinz Company (NYSE: HNZ) in Pittsburgh. She returned to Westinghouse the following year, and was appointed associate general counsel in January 1993.
 Ms. Straka earned her law degree from Duquesne University in 1980, and her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Straka lives in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh with her daughter, Susan, also an attorney.
