ANF seizes 4.38 tons of narcotics.

ISLAMABAD -- Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan has seized massive quantity of narcotics weighing 4.38 ton worth Rs 841 million internationally while carrying out 16 operations across the country, officials said on Tuesday.

During these operations, ANF also arrested 19 persons including a lady involved in drug smuggling and impounded 4 vehicles being used in transportation of drugs. Seized drugs comprised 4350 Kg Morphine, 33.2 Kg Hashish, 1.2 Kg Opium and 2.1 Kg Heroin.

ANF Quetta in a successful intelligence based operation conducted in Chagi seized 4.35 Ton Morphine. According to details, ANF raided a desolate site located at Killi Brabcha, Tehsil and amp; District Chagi and seized 4350 Kg Morphine which was concealed in a seasonal stream. Drug was stuffed in plastic bags. As per preliminary reports, the drug was stocked for handing over to another narcotics gang for onward dispatch to some unidentified location.

ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of information intercepted a Suzuki Mehran car near Burhan Interchange, GT Road, Attock. Search of the car led to seizure of 6 Kg Hashish which was concealed in secret cavities of the car. Two persons on board identified as Farhad Khan and Shakeel Ahmed both residents of Peshawar were also apprehended during the operation.

In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Mehran car near Abbotabad Mor, GT Road, Attock and recovered 5 Kg Hashish during search of the vehicle. Hashish was concealed in oil tank of the car. A person on board identified as Muhammad Tariq resident of Khyber Agency was also arrested on the spot. Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 4 Kg Hashish by arresting two drug carriers including namely Muhammad Liaqat and Bilal both residents of Attock. They were arrested near Abbotabad Mor, GT Road, Attock.

Moreover, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler named Nasir Khan resident of Abbotabad, recovering 780 Gram Hashish from his possession. He was arrested near Zia Masjid, Express Highway, Islamabad.

ANF Lahore intercepted a Suzuki Alto car near Meezan Bank, Pico Chowk, Badami Bagh Road, Lahore and recovered 3.6 Kg Hashish concealed in it. An accused namely Tahir Butt resident of Lahore was also arrested during the operation. In another operation, ANF Lahore seized a Canada destined parcel containing swimming kit from an office of a courier service company based in Johar Town, Lahore and recovered 900 Gram Heroin concealed in the said parcel. ANF also arrested an accused namely Azhar Ali resident of Lahore in this connection.

ANF Lahore also arrested a local drug seller namely Muhammad Asjad Ashraf resident of Lahore along with 130 Gram Hashish. He was arrested near main gate of Fatima Memorial Medical College, Lahore. In fourth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 1.02 Kg Hashish by arresting an accused namely Turiyale Khan resident of Peshawar. He was arrested near Shahabpura, Ugoki Road, Sialkot.

In fifth operation, ANF Lahore arrested a local drug peddler identified as Mohsin Patris resident of Sialkot, recovering 200 Gram Heroin from his personal possession. He was arrested near Punjab Food, Wazirabad Road, Daska Chowk, Sambrial, Sialkot. In sixth operation, ANF Lahore while acting on tip-off intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Samana Pull, Sargodha Road, Faisalabad and recovered 4.8 Kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. An accused on board namely Lal Badshsh resident of Peshawar was also arrested during the operation.

ANF Peshawar recovered 2.4 Kg Hashish from personal possession of a lady namely Zahida Sultan who was arrested near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar while travelling in a passenger van.

In another operation, ANF Peshawar arrested three drug traffickers including Faisal Wali, Shafat Ullah and Syed Ibrahim, all residents of Peshawar, recovering 1.2 Kg Opium and 2.4 Hashish from their personal possession. They were arrested while riding on a motorcycle near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar.

In addition, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Hiace near main Toll Plaza, Kohat and recovered 1.2 Kg Hashish during search of the vehicle. Hashish was concealed in spare wheel of the vehicle. A person on board indentified as Sattar Khan resident of Bannu was arrested on the spot.
