ANELKA WILL BE A HIT; He reminds me of Michael Owen - says Gerrard.
Anelka can expect a hot reception at Arsenal tomorrow when he makes his first return to Highbury after controversially leaving for Real Madrid in a pounds 23m move.
The French striker scored his first goal for Liverpool in the 3-0 FA Cup victory over Birmingham last week.
And Gerrard is hoping his new team-mate will add to that tally against his old club and help the Reds get back on the title track.
The midfielder said: "Nicolas has been brilliant around the dressingroom. I have had a few chats to him and he has settled in well.
"He has also been brilliant on the pitch with his blistering pace.
Anelka's game is very similar to Michael Owen. His movement is great and is a delight for the midfield. He causes trouble with his runs, just like Michael does.
"He speaks good English, but he is not the kind of guy to go shouting his mouth off. Saying that though, I know how much he wants to beat Arsenal and score if he can.
He has looked very lively and sharp in midfield and it was great to see him get his first goal.
"Gerard Houllier has always said we need four good strikers, so it was good we moved so fast when Robbie Fowler left, but with Milan Baros as well we have five.
"Nicolas is enjoying himself and he wants to make it a permanent move, and I think we will see that by the way he plays on Sunday."
