ANDRX ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT

 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrx Corporation, a pharmaceutical company, announced today the appointment of Udo Henseler, Ph.D., to the position of Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer.
 Before joining Andrx, Dr. Henseler was Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Coulter Electronics, a multinational medical and laboratory instruments and supply company based in Miami. Dr. Henseler's prior affiliations include Genetic Systems Corporation, a publicly held biotechnology firm where he was Corporate Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at the time it was acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) and Beckman Instruments where he held the position of Group Controller and Chief Financial Executive of the Healthcare Group at the time of its acquisition by SmithKline (NYSE: SKB). Dr. Henseler is a certified public accountant and serves on the Board of Directors of a number of companies and organizations.
