ANDREW CORPORATION NAMES CAROLE M. HOWARD TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 ORLAND PARK, Ill., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Andrew Corporation (ANDW) (NASDAQ-NMS: ANDW) elected Carole M. Howard as a member of its board. Mrs. Howard is vice president of public relations and communications policy for The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. Her election increases the size of the board to eight members.
 Floyd L. English, president and chief executive officer, said, "Mrs. Howard has had a distinguished career as a public relations professional. Prior to assuming her present position, she had extensive executive public relations assignments with AT&T. We look forward to the background and experience she can bring to Andrew Corporation's board of directors."
 An author and former reporter, Mrs. Howard is on the board of directors of the Lila Acheson Wallace Fund for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Reader's Digest Foundation, Issues Management Association and The Hundred Club of Westchester, N.Y. She is a member of the public relations advisory counsel for the U.S. Postal Agency and the public relations committee of the United States Information Agency.
