ANDREA KING SIGNS PRODUCTION DEAL WITH FOX
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrea King, senior

film reporter for The Hollywood Reporter, has signed a two-year first- look production deal with Twentieth Century Fox, it was announced today by Roger Birnbaum, president, Worldwide Production, and executive vice president, Twentieth Century Fox. She will leave the Reporter in two weeks and take up offices on the Fox lot June 1.
Birnbaum commented: "The types of stories Andrea King has done have put her in contact with the most important people in the industry and have given her a uniquely privileged view of this business and how it works. We're confident that she will pursue good scripts with the same energy and enthusiasm she brought to her work as a journalist."
King commented: "My four years at the Reporter have been an invaluable learning experience, which have given me great insight into the industry. Roger Birnbaum is one of Hollywood's most talented and discerning production heads, who has been responsible for bringing some impressive films to the screen. I look forward to working closely with him and Joe Roth, who are giving me an extraordinary opportunity.
"I will miss my colleagues at the Hollywood Reporter. I am grateful to publisher and editor in chief Robert Dowling and editor Alex Ben Block for their support."
After joining The Hollywood Reporter in May 1988, King was named senior film reporter in September 1990. In that capacity, she has covered the activities of the major studios, independents and talent agencies, as well as industry trends.
Prior to that, she worked for two years at Israel's only English- language daily newspaper, the prestigious Jerusalem Post. King wrote feature pieces for the Post's weekend magazine and covered the domestic film industry and Hollywood productions shooting in the Middle East.
She has also written free-lance pieces for The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Interview, Entertainment Weekly, Empire, Glamour and US magazine.
King was awarded her master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, New York, in May of 1985. She earned her bachelor of arts in philosophy from Clark University in Worcester, Mass.
Twentieth Century Fox is primarily engaged in the financing, development, production, distribution and marketing of motion pictures throughout the world and is a unit of Fox Inc.
