AND THE WINNER IS; Cathy MacPhail.

Cathy was joined by Ross Collins and Alex McCall as they picked up new silverware for the mantlepiece at the 2015 Scottish Children's Book Awards.

Some 28,000 votes were cast by children across the country and collated by the Scottish Book Trust.

Author and illustrator Ross won the Bookbug Readers (ages three to seven) category for the picture book Robot Rumpus, written by Sean Taylor. Kintore-based debut author Alex triumphed in the Younger Readers (eight to 11) category for Attack of the Giant Robot Chickens.

And the wonderful Cathy lifted her third SCBA in the Older Readers (12 to 16) category for her thriller Mosi'sWar.

Cathy said: "All I have ever wanted to do is write rattling good stories that children will enjoy and this very special award makes me think I must be doing something right."
