ANADIGICS UNVEILS OPTICAL RECEIVER FOR SFF APPLICATIONS.
Anadigics, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD), a supplier of wireless and broadband communications solutions, has unveiled a highly integrated fiber receiver specifically designed for use in small form factor (SFF) modules for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel fiber optic networks. The AMT128503T56F offers system designers a high-performance solution for 850 nm systems in a small TO-56 package ideally suited for SFF modules, enabling increased overall system board density in next-generation datacom transceivers."Small form factor modules are emerging as the dominant solution for the Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel datacom markets," remarked Dr. Bami Bastani, president & CEO of Anadigics, Inc. "In response to the demand for these solutions, Anadigics is expanding its line of award- winning integrated receiver products for use in these applications, and we are beginning to ship production volumes to our major customers. This enables Anadigics to serve a greater portion of the high-density fiber-optic transceiver markets."
"Anadigics is a major supplier of integrated photodetectors and transimpedance amplifiers for use in small form factor datacom modules for both 850 nm and 1300 nm systems," said Phil Wallace, vice president of Fiber Communication Products at Anadigics, Inc. "By offering our solutions in the TO-56 package, we are able to better serve our customers by providing them with more manufacturing margin, while increasing our competitive advantage in the Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel markets."
The AMT128503T56F consists of a monolithically integrated metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) diode and a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) integrated in a small TO-56 package. The device offers a typical sensitivity of -22 dBm and a minimum responsivity of 1000 V/W with a total power dissipation of about 120mW. Operating from a 3.3V supply, the device provides a minimum bandwidth of 1000MHz and features an on-chip automatic gain control circuit enabling the AMT128503T56F to handle high optical input powers up to 0dBm.
The AMT128503T56F is priced at $8.10 in quantities of 1,000 units.
Anadigics (Nasdaq: ANAD) designs and manufactures radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) solutions for growing broadband and wireless communications markets. The company's innovative high-frequency RFICs enable manufacturers of communications equipment to enhance overall system performance, manufacturing cost, and time to market. By utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes for its RFICs, Anadigics achieves the high-volume and cost-effective products required by leading companies in its targeted high-growth communications markets. Anadigics was the first GaAs IC manufacturer to receive ISO 9001 certification.
