ANADIGICS GETS GSM/GPRS ORDERS FROM TWO ASIAN FIRMS.

ANADIGICS, Inc. (NASDAQ:ANAD), Warren, N.J., a leading supplier of wireless and broadband solutions, has received production orders for its leading quad-band GSM/GPRS power amplifier modules from two GSM handset manufacturers in Asia. ANADIGICS' AWT6108 GSM/GPRS PA module has been selected by a handset OEM in Taiwan for two new GSM/GPRS clamshell phones including a camera-enabled tri-band handset. The ANADIGICS PA was also selected by an ODM in China for a dual-band GSM handset serving the domestic China market and scheduled for introduction in early 2004.

"ANADIGICS is solidly positioned to achieve its market share objectives in the GSM/GPRS handset market, which is estimated by analysts to be an $800M opportunity for power amplifier and antenna switch components," said Dr. Bami Bastani, president & CEO of ANADIGICS, Inc. "The introduction of our new portfolio of GSM/GPRS solutions has more than tripled our served available market for power amplifiers and represents enormous revenue growth opportunity for ANADIGICS. The selection of ANADIGICS' PAs in key GSM/GPRS reference designs has accelerated our penetration into new GSM customers, particularly among leading Asian ODMs which constitute approximately 40% of the GSM market opportunity."

Developed using ANADIGICS' advanced InGaP HBT technology, the AWT6108 quad-band power amplifier is packaged in an industry standard 7mm X 10mm module and delivers state-of-the-art performance, reliability, and temperature stability for GSM/GPRS handsets. The power amplifier's outstanding temperature stability enables GPRS Class 12 operation and ensures industry-leading quality levels of data transfer for 3G handsets. By integrating advanced features, the power amplifier eliminates the need for couplers and other power control circuitry thereby reducing component count, simplifying handset design, and improving overall system efficiency. The AWT6108 reduces time to market for GSM/GPRS handsets and decreases cost by simplifying handset calibration, which improves handset development time and production yields.

ANADIGICS (NASDAQ:ANAD) designs and manufactures radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) solutions for growing broadband and wireless communications markets. The company's innovative high frequency RFICs enable manufacturers of communications equipment to enhance overall system performance while reducing manufacturing cost and time to market. By utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes for its RFICs, ANADIGICS achieves the high-volume and cost-effective products required by leading companies in its targeted high-growth communications markets. ANADIGICS was the first GaAs IC manufacturer to receive ISO 9001 certification and is certified to the ISO 9001: 2000 quality standard.
