AMs questioned over poetry event.

A BACKLASH against two Assembly Members who organised a controversial poetry reading in the Senedd was growing yesterday.

Plaid Cymru AM Chris Franks tabled a statement of opinion calling on organisers Peter Black and Lorraine Barrett to ensure no offensive material would be included in tonight's reading by Blackwood poet Patrick Jones.

He said: "I very much hope nothing will occur during this reading that will alienate people of any religion."

Mr Black said: "What's offensive is very much a subjective point of view."

The reading was arranged after a bookstore cancelled a similar event under pressure from a Christian group.
