AMZ: NEW SCHOLARSHIP-MATCHING SERVICE OFFERS UNIQUE PROGRAM TO COMPANIES; AT HEWLETT-PACKARD, 'INTEREST AND RESPONSE HAS BEEN POSITIVE' SEATTLE, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's average four-year tab for tuition, room and board will top $55,000. A two-year-old entering a private college in 2008 will pay about $150,000. According to Charles Zwicki, a former high school educator and president of AMZ Data Services, a Seattle company that matches scholarships to students, $30 billion in financial aid is available annually. "No student should be forced to forego their dream of going to college," said Zwicki. "According to a U.S. Congressional study, this year over $6 billion in financial aid will go unclaimed. What most people don't realize is, not all awards are based on financial need or grades." A new scholarship search service offered by AMZ Data Services searches over 250,000 local and national scholarships, grants, work study programs and loans. AMZ provides a professional report of all scholarships matching eligibility according to information on a Student Application Form. The report details accurate and comprehensive information usually including 25-50 resources per student. It's estimated that the information compiled through various electronic sources would take a person 250 hours to research. Although there are many companies claiming to offer "scholarship- matching services," AMZ's approach is unique. AMZ does not guarantee a scholarship for each applicant, but its prompt service, affordability, personal attention (including preparation of letters of inquiry to scholarship committees) and 24-month updates, make them a leader in scholarship-matching services. One of AMZ's unique services is its employee assistance program. AMZ develops and coordinates a program for companies, working one-on-one with the office of employee benefits and the end-user. "We are pleased to offer this scholarship service through AMZ to our employees," said Linnea Wallin, employee benefits manager for Lake Stevens Instrument Division Hewlett-Packard (H-P). "The initial interest and response has been positive." AMZ Data Services is a professional scholarship-matching service providing financial aid and scholarship information for both public and private institutions and the Department of Defense educational programs.
