AMWAY WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM IS ANSWER FOR CONCERN ABOUT CYSTS IN DRINKING WATER

ADA, Mich., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The right home water treatment system can be the answer for Washington, D.C., residents concerned about the high levels of turbidity in their city's water supply and the potential for similar occurrences in neighboring communities.
The Amway Water Treatment System is effective in reducing turbidity, which is the occurrence of particles suspended in water which makes it cloudy. Furthermore, the Amway Water Treatment System was approved by the Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor and Human Resources for reducing Cryptosporidium oocysts when Milwaukee's water supply was affected by Cryptosporidium oocysts in April 1993. In the Milwaukee case, a correlation was made between high levels of turbidity and the presence of Cryptosporidium oocysts. Because Cryptosporidium oocysts are the smallest known waterborne parasites infectious to humans, the Amway Water Treatment System therefore will remove all other waterborne parasites.
The National Sanitation Foundation International, an independent testing and certification agency, rated the Amway Water Treatment System (Model E-9225) with its highest performance level, Class I, for the reduction of turbidity. In addition, the NSF has listed the Amway Water Treatment System for the removal of Cryptosporidium and other cysts as well as other harmful contaminants that can be found in some water, including lead, asbestos, Volatile Organic Compounds, Lindane and Methoxychlor. Additionally, the system has been documented to remove radon and more than 100 U.S. E.P.A. pollutants, and pesticides(A).
The Amway Water Treatment System uses the latest carbon-block filtration technology incorporating a patented four-stage system. The Water Treatment System can be easily connected to an existing faucet and placed on a countertop or under a sink.
Amway offers a solid money-back guarantee. If, after a reasonable time the customer is not satisfied, Amway will replace the system, refund the purchase price, or give credit toward the purchase of another Amway product.
The Amway Water Treatment System is sold only by independent Amway distributors. The nearest distributor can be located by looking under Amway Products in the white pages of the telephone book or by calling 1-800-544-7167.
Sales by Amway Corp. and its affiliates of $4.5 billion at estimated retail for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 1993, make Amway one of the world's largest direct selling companies. More than 2 million independent Amway distributors in 60 countries and territories market about 400 Amway home care, personal care, health and fitness, home tech, and commercial products; another 5,000 brand-name items through its PERSONAL SHOPPERS(R) Catalog; plus a variety of services and educational products. Amway and its affiliates employ more than 11,000 people world wide.
