AMTOTE INTERNATIONAL BECOMES MARKET-DRIVEN; ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES
HUNT VALLEY, Md., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- AmTote International President and CEO Michael Piggott, today announced organizational changes designed to support AmTote's commitment to providing the highest quality of products and services and becoming a market-driven company. "We are pleased to introduce three new organizations at AmTote, all focused on customer satisfaction," said Piggott. "By responding to our changing customer needs, AmTote will continue to provide excellence in customer service and technology in the pari-mutuel industry."
A Customer Relations Department has been established to ensure timely and comprehensive communication between customers and AmTote management. Don Fuller, formerly AmTote's executive vice president of Customer Service and Sales, has been named executive vice president of Customer Relations. In this position, Fuller is responsible for enhancing AmTote's relationships with its customers and the pari-mutuel industry, and for representing AmTote at all customer and industry functions and forums as well as providing direct assistance to the president with market development and planning.
Sales and Marketing
AmTote is responding to the pari-mutuel industry's increased requirement for market-driven products and services and has formed a new sales department, headed by Jack Smith, III, vice president of sales. Smith is responsible for ensuring AmTote's commitment to servicing the future needs of the pari-mutuel industry, pursuing sales opportunities, and maintaining close relationships with AmTote's North American customers. A new function, Product Marketing, has also been created to ensure that future product development is based on customer and market requirements. Phyllis Rosen is named product marketing manager. International Sales will continue to report to Jim Betson, director of international sales. These functions report directly to the president.
AmTote's field service operation, reconstituted as a customer service department, will enhance the company's ability to promptly respond to customers' operational needs. This organization will be directed by William Skelley, vice president of customer service, who is responsible for maintaining continual contact with AmTote customers and ensuring timely fulfillment of their needs. Wes Hoffman, AmTote's senior vice president of operations, continues to be responsible for all of AmTote's technical and field operations. AmTote, a wholly owned subsidiary of GTECH Corporation (NYSE: GTK), designs, produces, implements, operates and services computerized wagering systems for such customers as horse and greyhound racetracks, off-track betting corporations and jai alai frontons.
