 AMSCO INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES INCREASED
 THIRD QUARTER AND NINE MONTH EARNINGS
 PITTSBURGH, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- AMSCO International, Inc. (NYSE: ASZ) today reported increased net sales and earnings for both the third quarter and nine months ended Sept. 27, 1992.
 Net sales for the third quarter were $120.2 million, up 32 percent from $91.0 million for this period last year. Net income was $7.9 million, up 52 percent from $5.2 million, while fully diluted earnings per share of $.25 were up 47 percent from $.17 for this quarter a year ago. Earnings for the current quarter include other income of $.04 per share related to a patent litigation settlement. Revenues from Finn-Aqua Santasalo-Sohlberg Oy (Finn-Aqua) acquired on Feb. 28, 1992, contributed $8.1 million or 9 percent points of the sales growth for the quarter.
 Net sales for the first nine months of 1992 totalled $334.3 million, up 24 percent over the $270.4 million reported for the same period last year. Nine month net income grew 48 percent to $22.0 million or $.69 per share, including the previously mentioned $.04 per share other income, up from the $14.9 million or $.51 per share earned in this period of 1991. Finn-Aqua revenues of $23.7 million for the seven months since acquisition represented 9 percent points of the nine-month sales growth.
