AMOCO PROJECTS ITS 1991 SALES OF GASOLINE AND REFINED PRODUCTS IN THE
U.S. WILL BE UP ABOUT 4 PERCENT OVER 1990
CHICAGO, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Amoco Oil Company said today it expects Amoco's 1991 sales of gasoline and other refined products in the United States will be up about 4 percent over 1990 sales, despite the fact that sales of these products nationwide are down about 2 percent.
Amoco's marketing vice president Robert J. Rauscher said Amoco's sales of gasoline are projected to increase about 3 percent, while sales of diesel fuel, heating oil, and other distillates are expected to climb about 6 percent.
Rauscher attributed the sales gain to Amoco's program of concentrating its capital dollars and marketing efforts in its 30-state marketing area, its quality reputation, its efforts to focus on the needs and wants of the customer, and the dedication and hard work of its dealers, jobbers, and employees.
"We're very pleased with the sales increases we've had during 1991," said Rauscher. "However, we're also very aware that the market is extremely competitive. Our challenge is to continue this strong effort by meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and the strategies and programs of other marketers."
Amoco Oil Company is the refining, marketing and transportation subsidiary of Amoco Corporation (NYSE: AN).
