AMEX TO OPEN OPTIONS TRADING ON CAREMARK INTERNATIONAL AND SOFTWARE TOOLWORKS

 NEW YORK, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today announced on Monday, March 8, it will open options trading on the listed stock of Caremark International, Inc. (NYSE: CK) and the over- the-counter stock of The Software Toolworks, Inc. (options symbol: TWQ).
 Caremark International of Northbrook, Ill., is a provider of patient care products and services in the U.S. as well as a manager of care services for businesses and a health maintenance organization in Puerto Rico. The company's patient care business provides a broad range of therapies and products, such as infusion and growth hormone therapies, hemophilia and immune deficiency
therapies, physical therapy andice CK will open with strike prices of 12-1/2, 15 and 17-1/2 and position limits of 8,000 contracts. Initial expiration months will be March, April, July and October of 1993. O'Connor & Associates is the specialist unit for the new options.
 Headquartered in Novato, Calif., The Software Toolworks Inc. publishes and licenses educational and entertainment software for use with personal computers and various Nintendo entertainment systems. It also sells a piano teaching system as well as software duplication and packaging services.
 TWQ will open with strike prices of 5, 7-1/2 and 10 and position limits of 8,000 contracts. Initial expiration months will be March, April, June and September of 1993. Miceli-Van Caneghan & Co., Inc. is the specialist for the new options.
 The AMEX trades a total of 305 stock options, including 86 options on over-the-counter stocks, as well as 41 LEAPS(TM) (Long-term Equity AnticiPation Securities). In addition, options are traded on six broad- market indexes-- the Major Market Index (XMI), the XMI LEAPS(TM) Index (XLT), the S&P MidCap 400 Index (MID), the Institutional Index (XII), the Japan Index (JPN) and the EUROTOP 100 Index (EUR)-- as well as four industry based indexes-- the Oil Index (XOI), the Computer Technology Index (XCI), the Pharmaceutical Index (DRG) and The Biotechnology Index (BTK).
