AMEX TO BEGIN TRADING OPTIONS ON NAVISTAR INTERNATIONAL & BALLY MANUFACTURING CORPORATION

 NEW YORK, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today announced it will open options trading on the listed stocks of Navistar International Corporation (ticker/options symbol: NAV) and Bally Manufacturing Corporation (ticker/options symbol: BLY) on Friday, July 9, 1993.
 Navistar International, of Chicago, is the largest producer of medium and heavy-duty trucks in North America. The company's trucks are sold to private and common carriers, lessors, utilities, construction and energy companies, and school bus providers.
 NAV will open with strike prices of 22-1/2, 25 and 30, and position limits of 3,000 contracts. Initial expiration months will be August, September and October of 1993, and January of 1994. J. Streicher & Co. will be the specialist unit for the new options.
 Also headquartered in Chicago, Bally Manufacturing is a large casino/hotel company that is currently undergoing a restructuring. The company is actively pursuing markets outside of Atlantic City, N.J., and Nevada.
 BLY will open with strike prices of 7-1/2, 10 and 12-1/2, and position limits of 8,000 contracts. Initial expiration will be August, September and October of 1993, and January of 1994. Miceli, Van Caneghan & Co., Inc. will be the specialist unit for the new options.
 The Amex trades a total of 332 stock options, including 89 options on over-the-counter stocks, as well as 43 LEAPS(TM) (Long-term Equity AnticiPation Securities). In addition, options are traded on six broad- market indexes-- the Major Market Index (XMI), the XMI LEAPS(TM) Index (XLT), the S&P MidCap 400 Index (MID), the Institutional Index (XII), the Japan Index (JPN) and the EUROTOP 100 Index (EUR)-- as well as six industry based indexes-- the Oil Index (XOI), the Computer Technology Index (XCI), the Pharmaceutical Index (DRG), the DRG LEAPS(TM) Index (DGL), The Biotechnology Index (BTK), and the BTK LEAPS(TM) Index (BKL).
