AMEX LISTS BANKERS TRUST NEW YORK CORPORATION CONVERTIBLE CAPITAL SECURITIES; $150 MILLION OF SECURITIES ISSUED

 NEW YORK, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange today began trading Bankers Trust New York Corporation 7-5/8 percent Convertible Capital Securities. Trading under ticker symbol BND, the securities expire on June 1, 2033, and may not be redeemed prior to June 1, 1998.
 Bankers Trust New York Corporation has the option of reducing the interest paid on the securities from 7-5/8 percent to 6-1/8 percent any time during the life of the security, and must allow for 60 - 90 days notice to be given to the security holders. Backed by the Corporation, the interest-bearing securities can be converted into depositary shares of the company's cumulative preferred stock upon election by the company to reset interest rates to 6-1/8 percent.
 At the start of today's trading, BND opened at $24 on an initial trade of 3,000.
 Bankers Trust New York Corporation issued $150 million of the capital securities in denominations of $25. The securities are jointly underwritten by Lehman Brothers; Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Kidder, Peabody & Co. Incorporated; Merrill Lynch & Co.; PaineWebber Incorporated; Prudential Securities Incorporated; and Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. Incorporated.
 Bankers Trust Corporation's banking subsidiary, Bankers Trust Company, is among the largest commercial banks in New York City and the U.S., based on total assets.
