AMEX LEADS ANOTHER RECORD DAY ON WALL STREET

 NEW YORK, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange Market Value Index, the top performing major stock index in 1993, led another day of record highs on Wall Street.
 The Amex Index climbed 1.33 to an all-time high of 447.96. It was the fourth consecutive record close for the index, and the 24th this year.
 The Amex Index continues to outperform all other major stock market indices in 1993 (see chart below).
 The Amex Market Value Index is the composite weighted value of equity securities traded on the American Stock Exchange.
