AMETEK acquires Chandler Instruments.
Ametek will draw on a $300 million credit facility to pay for the acquisition, which is only the latest in a series of instrumentation deals (see page 4). Chandler is a leader in its specialty market and Ametek should benefit from the expected renewed strength in upstream segments of the oil and gas business. This acquisition shares a familiar pattern with previous purchases by way of its industrial orientation and niche market character.
