AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed higher today in heavy trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up .55 to 412.18. Advances led declines 298 to 261 with 224 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose 2 cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 17,247,500 shares, down from the 19,641,045 shares traded yesterday. After-hours volume totaled 200 shares, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 17,247,700 shares.
 Topping the most active list was Citizens First Bancorp, up 1/2 to 6-1/4 on 628,100 shares, followed by NTN Communications, up 5/8 to 6-1/8 on 493,700 shares. The third most active issue, Royal Oak Mines Inc. was up 1/8 to 1-13/16 on 477,800 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 291,200 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Audre Recognitions System, up 1/8 to 5 on 158,000 shares.
 Trading in options was moderate today with 172,825 contracts changing hands as compared with 171,162 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Nabisco Mar 10 series, unchanged at 1-3/8 on 2,135 contracts, followed by the Nabisco Sep 10 series, up 1/6 to 1-5/8 on 2,000 contracts. The third most active was the Glaxo Holdings Feb 20 series up 1 to 1-3/4 on 1,222 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Motorola Feb 55 series, unchanged at 1-1/8 on 4,749 contracts, followed by the Pfizer Mar 70 series down 3/8 to 1/2 on 3,765 contracts. The third most active was the American Express Apr 25 series, unchanged at 1-1/8 on 3,205 contracts.
