AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed mixed today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 0.01 to 394.18. Declines led advances 284 to 253 with 241 issues unchanged. The average price per share was unchanged.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 11,824,155 shares, up from the 9,987,540 shares traded Thursday. There was no after-hours activity reported.
 Topping the most active list was Energy Service Corp., up 1/8 to 1-1/8 on 344,500 shares, followed by Citizens First Bancorp, down 1/8 to 5-3/4 on 281,300 shares. The third most active issue, Digicon was up 1/8 to 4-1/4 on 233,500 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 251,500 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Top Source, Inc., down 1/16 to 2-1/16 on 90,800 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 100,443 contracts changing hands as compared with 75,237 contracts traded Thursday. Puts and calls both traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the U.S. Healthcare April 45 series, unchanged at 4 on 1,103 contracts, followed by the Digital Equipment January 30 series, down 1/16 to 1/2 on 1,051 contracts. The third most active was the Digital Equipment January 35 series down 3/8 to 2-1/2 on 920 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the AMR Corporation January 65 series, up 1/4 to 1-1/4 on 2,160 contracts, followed by the Disney January 45 series up 3/8 to 3/4 on 1,794 contracts. The third most active was the Digital Equipment January 35 series, down 3/16 to 11/16 on 1,549 contracts.
