AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Nov. 24 ~PRNewswire~ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed higher today in very active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 0.79 to 391.53. Advances led declines 281 to 277 with 226 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose two cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 18,901,010 shares, up from the 13,533,435 shares traded yesterday. There was no after hours activity reported.
 Topping the most active list was Gaylord Container Corp. Warrants, unchanged at 2 on 1,406,700 shares, followed by Amdahl, up 1~8 to 8 on 848,000 shares. The third most active issue, American Medical Holdings was up 5~8 to 10-3~4 on 777,800 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 360,400 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Intertel Communications, Inc. unchanged at 3~4 on 112,500 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 154,138 contracts changing hands as compared with 201,383 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Institutional December 380 series, unchanged at 1~8 on 1,000 contracts, followed by the Philip Morris March 75 series, up 1~4 to 2 on 998 contracts. The third most active was the Warner-Lambert December 70 series up 1~16 to 2-5~16 on 965 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Amgen January 75 series, up 1-1~2 to 5-1~2 on 3,430 contracts, followed by the Amgen January 70 series up 2-1~4 to 9-1~4 on 3,415 contracts. The third most active was the Amgen January 80 series, up 1 to 2-5~8 on 2,620 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 Standard & Poor's MidCap Index: up 1.22 to 153.95. Contracts volume 2,069, with 1,056 puts and 1,013 calls.
 Major Market Index: up 3.46 to 346.00. Contracts volume 6,271, with 2,439 puts and 3,832 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index: up .35 to 34.60. Contracts volume 120, with 100 puts and 20 calls.
 Institutional Index (XII): up 2.39 to 440.15. Contracts volume 1,735, with 250 puts and 1,485 calls.
