AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed lower today in active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 1.45 to 390.74. Declines led advances 279 to 255 with 231 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell four cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 13,533,435 shares, up~down from the 15,438,625 shares traded Friday. There was no after hours activity.
 Topping the most active list was American Medical Holdings, up 1~4 to 10-1~8 on 610,800 shares, followed by Heritage Media, unchanged at 8 on 379,500 shares. The third most active issue, U.S. Alcohol Testing of America, Inc. was unchangd at 1-1~16 on 332,700 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 301,800 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Unique Mobility Inc., down 1~8 to 5 on 99,500 shares.
 Trading in options was active today with 201,383 contracts changing hands as compared with 279,389 contracts traded Friday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Major Market Index DEC 310 series, down 1~8 to 3~16 on 3,230 contracts, followed by the Major Market Index DEC 320 series, down 3~16 to 1~2 on 3,170 contracts. The third most active was the Major Market Index DEC 300 series down 3~16 to 1~8 on 3,150 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Westinghouse Electric APR 12 1~2 series, up 13~16 to 1-7~16 on 3,482 contracts, followed by the Westinghouse Electric JAN 12 1~2 series up 1~2 to 13~16 on 3,195 contracts. The third most active was the Midcap Index DEC 140 series, up 5~8 to 13-1~2 on 3,000 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 Standard & Poor's MidCap Index: down .54 to 152.73. Contracts volume 24,860, with 12,316 puts and 12,544 calls.
 Major Market Index: down .83 to 342.54. Contracts volume 46,876, with 23,914 puts and 22,962 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index: down .09 to 34.25. Contracts volume 14, with 0 puts and 14 calls.
 Institutional Index (Opening): down 2.07 to 437.76. Contracts volume 1,993, with 374 puts and 1,619 calls.
