AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed higher today in active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 2.85 to 389.34. Advances led declines 308 to 249 with 218 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose eight cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 16,358,125 shares, up from the 15,270,495 shares traded yesterday. After-hours volume totaled 200 shares, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 16,358,325 shares.
 Topping the most active list was P.H. Glatfelter & Co., up 1~4 to 18 on 1,521,600 shares, followed by Enzo Biochem, up 1 to 6-3~4 on 515,000 shares. The third most active issue, PLC Systems was unchanged at 8-1~8 on 451,700 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 329,700 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was AUDRE Recognition Systems, Inc., up 1~4 to 3-1~4 on 74,400 shares.
 Trading in options was very active today with 190,172 contracts changing hands as compared with 194,056 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Wells Fargo December 65 series, down 5~16 to 3~16 on 1,920 contracts, followed by the Wells Fargo November 65 series, unchanged at 1~16 on 1,900 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical December 65 series down 11~16 to 2-5~16 on 1,800 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Nordstrom December 35 series, down 1~16 to 1-15~16 on 6,300 contracts, followed by the Philip Morris November 30 series up 3~16 to 3~4 on 4,700 contracts. The third most active was the Tele-Communications April 17 1~2 series, up 1~2 to 3 on 2,775 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 Standard & Poor's MidCap Index: up .67 to 152.51. Contracts volume 1,652, with 382 puts and 1,270 calls.
 Major Market Index: unchanged to 342.34. Contracts volume 6,347, with 3,955 puts and 2,392 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index: unchanged to 34.23. Contracts volume 68, with 68 puts and 0 calls.
 Institutional Index (XII): up .70 to 436.88. Contracts volume 140, with 100 puts and 40 calls.
 Institutional Index (PXP): up .70 to 436.88. Contracts volume 677, with 189 puts and 488 calls.
 EuroTop 100 Index: down .95 to 420.19. Contracts volume 42, with 22 puts and 20 calls.
 Japan Index: up .98 to 170.20. Contracts volume 2,117, with 1,227 puts and 890 calls.
 Pharmaceutical Index: up .05 to 205.74. Contracts volume 757, with 195 puts and 562 calls.
