AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Nov. 18 ~PRNewswire~ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed higher today in active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 2.20 to 386.49. Advances led declines 306 to 263 with 200 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose six cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 15,270,495 shares, up from the 14,334,340 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours trading activity.
 Topping the most active list was Davstar, down 1~4 to 5-1~2 on 768,100 shares, followed by U.S. Bioscience, up 3~8 to 10 1~8 on 502,000 shares. The third most active issue, Belmac Corporation was down 1-7~8 to 6-1~8 on 483,600 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 260,300 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was International Remote Imaging Systems, unchanged at 1 on 44,100 shares.
 Trading in options was very active today with 194,056 contracts changing hands as compared with 142,473 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the U.S. Surgical November 65 series, down 7~16 to 1~2 on 3,606 contracts, followed by the U.S. Surgical January 65 series, up 1~4 to 4 on 3,137 contracts. The third most active was the Digital Equipment January 35 series up 1~8 to 4 on 2,456 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Philip Morris November 80 series, down 1~8 to 9~16 on 4,364 contracts, followed by the Philip Morris December 80 series unchanged at 1-3~4 on 4,325 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical November 65 series, up 1~8 to 1- 1~4 on 3,681 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 S&P Midcap Index: up 1.21 to 151.84. Contracts volume 1,166, with 480 puts and 675 calls.
 Major Market Index: up 2.19 to 342.34. Contracts volume 7,572, with 4,007 puts and 3,565 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index (XLT): up 0.21 to 34.23. Contracts volume 20, with 20 puts and 0 calls.
 Institutional Index (XII) (Opening-settled): up 4.30 to 436.18. Contracts volume 425, with 225 puts and 200 calls.
 Institutional Index (PXP) (Closing-settled): up 4.30 to 436.18. Contracts volume 2,715, with 609 puts and 2,106 calls.
 Eurotop 100 Index (EUR): up 0.22 to 421.14. Contracts volume 60, with 55 puts and 5 calls.
 Japan Index (JPN): up 7.70 to 169.22. Contracts volume 6,698, with 2,304 puts and 4,394 calls.
 Pharmaceutical Index: up 2.39 to 205.69. Contracts volume 789, with 465 puts and 324 calls.
