 NEW YORK, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed higher today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 2.10 to 385.36. Advances led declines 300 to 246 with 210 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose six cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 13,412,360 shares, up from the 13,045,185 shares traded Friday. After-hours volume totaled 100 shares, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 13,412,460 shares.
 Topping the most active list was Sulcus Computers, up 3/8 to 9-1/2 on 431,600 shares, followed by U.S. Bioscience, up 3/8 to 9-1/4 on 375,700 shares. The third most active issue, IVAX Corp. was up 7/8 to 32-3/4 on 337,600 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 444,400 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Intertel Communications, Inc., unchanged at 13/16 on 124,200 shares. The second most active ECM stock was Audre Recognition Systems, Inc., down 1/4 to 3-1/8 on 86,900 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 158,894 contracts changing hands as compared with 146,265 contracts traded Friday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Amgen November 65 series, down 3/4 to 5/16 on 2,084 contracts, followed by the Tuscon Electric Power April 5 series, up 1/16 to 2-3/16 on 1,585 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical November 60 series down 15/16 to 1-3/16 on 1,354 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Diagnostek November 12 1/2 series, up 1/8 to 3/8 on 3,843 contracts, followed by the UNUM Corporation December 45 series up 1/2 to 4 on 3,103 contracts. The third most active was the UNUM Corporation March 50 series, up 5/8 to 2 on 3,100 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 Standard & Poor's MidCap Index: up .98 to 150.58. Contracts volume 268, with 144 puts and 124 calls.
 Major Market Index: up .43 to 341.62. Contracts volume 5,571, with 2,844 puts and 2,727 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index: up .04 to 34.16. Contracts volume 10, with 10 puts and 0 calls.
 Institutional Index (XII): up 1.46 to 429.54. Contracts volume 2,304, with 200 puts and 2,104 calls.
