 NEW YORK, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed mixed today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 0.13 to 379.65. Declines led advances 252 to 231 with 220 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose one cent.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 9,856,150 shares, down from the 11,507,700 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours activity.
 Topping the most active list was North American Vaccine Corporation, down 2-1/2 to 8-3/4 on 554,700 shares, followed by Kirby Corporation, down 1/4 to 12-3/4 on 410,000 shares. The third most active issue, DWG Corp. was up 5/8 to 10-3/8 on 308,400 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 206,100 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was AUDRE Recognition Systems, up 1/4 to 2-3/4 on 48,900 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 161,717 contracts changing hands as compared with 171,368 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Major Market Index September 300 series, unchanged at 1/16 on 3,220 contracts, followed by the Major Market Index September 305 series, unchanged at 1/8 on 3,120 contracts. The third most active was the Major Market Index September 315 series down 1/8 to 1/4 on 3,070 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Major Market Index September 300 series, down 6 to 47 on 3,000 contracts, followed by the Major Market Index September 310 series down 6-7/8 to 37 on 3,000 contracts. The third most active was the Major Market Index September 315 series, down 1/8 to 32 on 3,000 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 Standard & Poor's MidCap Index: up .88 to 141.54. Contracts volume 4,002, with 2,530 puts and 1,472 calls.
 Major Market Index: up 1.59 to 348.19. Contracts volume 39,630, with 19,455 puts and 20,175 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index: up .16 to 34.82. Contracts volume 600, with 100 puts and 500 calls.
 Institutional Index: up 2.31 to 431.83. Contracts volume 2,224, with 377 puts and 1,847 calls.
